The first night of the conference Sam and I were zonked so we just kicked it in the hotel. Kathy had enough energy to go to class, all L&S could do was go to diner. Long day.

We drove up for AOA Academy in late November, it's a looong way so we got up at the crack hoping to leave around 4am. Besides the conference we also visited Mo's shop, Sausalito Optometry.

This is what happens when an architect has a real stake in a business. It turns out fantastic!

The new location is much better than their old location and it has some history. Depending on how you view things it could be baggage, but the historically protected gas station definitely is an eye catcher.

Mom wanting to get Samantha out of the shop so they can talk… shop. There are too many little things for a kid to grab in there. She about to sit in a puddle and dad's going to get in trouble for it : )

So because of the big storm that dropped snow on the I-5 we decided to take the 101 back down to San Diego. It takes a bit longer than an uncrowded 5, but if the 5 is a mess…. And the 101 is a much more scenic drive home.

The Apple Farm restaurant/hotel off the 101. There's not much apple or farm about the place, just a restaurant and hotel. Meh.
